Morning

It's 9:11 a.m. and I've already made us eggs and sausages for breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen, and everyone is bathed and dressed. Now Quinn's watching Dora with a book on her lap and I'm paying some bills. I wish every day were this productive.

So related to us...

Tonight on the way home from Border's, Quinn said sleepily from the back seat, "I want ta go to bed? I want ta go to bed?"

"You can go to bed as soon as we get home, sweetie," Andy told her.

"Okay!"

I'm going to EAT HER UP. She's just the best girl.

Dr. Phil

When Quinn woke up from her (3-hour) nap today, she was in an exceptionally good mood.

"Good morning, mommy!" she chirped when I opened the door.

"Hi sweetie!"

"I want ta det up?"

"OK, I'll get you up!"

"I want ta det in a fresh diap?"

"Yes, we'll change your diaper."

"I want ta watch Dr. Phil?"

"...What?" I've never mentioned Dr. Phil to her, really, or even watched it in her presence. I TiVo it and usually zip through it before bed if the topic seems interesting.

"I want ta watch Dr. Phil on the TV!!" she said happily.

"Probably not," I told her.

Her talking so much lately is just killing me.

We want the show!

Avid readers of Quinn's blog will remember that we got Quinn enjoying "The Blues Brothers", and now keep the soundtrack in the car, so that we can put on "Shake a Tail Feather" or "Minnie The Moocher" or "Rawhide" at a moment's notice. She now sings along with "Shake A Tail Feather" with the "aaaaaaahhhhhh!" at the appropriate part.

So today, when Quinn and I came home, after letting Mama got to the library, she was sitting at her little table. I was putting away the groceries, and Quinn was saying "We wan a show. We wan a show.", echoing the chant of the crowd at the Palace Hotel Ballroom in the movie. "Quinn, do you want to watch music?" I asked. "Yeah!" she squealed, and hurried to the TV. So we watched a couple of songs, danced in the living room, and then it was time for bed.

Obey and command the television

Yesterday morning after her bath, Quinn watched the Tweenies, an annoying show featuring singing and dancing preschool-aged puppet people. It's just as loathsome as it sounds, which means that she loves them.

I HEAR AND OBEY THE TWEENIES. WHAT IS YOUR WISH FOR ME?

I WILL! I WILL GO THIS WAY AND CLAP!

YES! I CAN GO THAT WAY TOO!

YES. I WOULD, IN FACT, LIKE TO BECOME ONE WITH YOU. THANK YOU.

Today, we listened to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy while she played her harmonica, which Grandma Coughlin brought back with her from California. Thanks, Grandma! That sounds good at 8:00 a.m.! [Note: Quinn calls it her "honeyhoneyca" -- Daddy]

At one point, Quinn became so excited with the music that she had to sprint out of the room.

But she hurried back to announce, "I HEAR DRUMMIES!!!!!" sixty-five times in the loudest voice that has ever come from a two-year-old. And then she shoved the harmonica back in her mouth.

hahahaha

Quinn and I were standing in the supermarket checkout line yesterday, and she was studying the magazine rack. Suddenly she brightened and pointed to one of the covers.

"Oh! Look! It's OP-AH!"

The people standing around us looked at her and cracked up.

"Op-ah on the MAZA-GINE!" she told them excitedly.

We are so related.
