Make Quinn your computer beep sound
Uncle Dennis said that he had people in his office trying to get Quinn laughing to be his beep sound. Windows probably only handles .WAV files, so here you go: Quinn laughing.

zooooo
We're going to the Milwaukee Zoo tomorrow to see the "ann-mawwwwwlllls." It will surely be better than our last trip to the zoo when it rained the entire day and all we saw was a dolphin show and a few wet elephants.
I'm going to have to ask Andy to refrain from reading each and every sign in front of each and every display, though. He has a tendency to gravitate towards any and all posted information, and there just isn't time for that when you have a mook who needs to see elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and fish (her requests).

Keeping secrets
Quinn's Grandma Coughlin is a bit of a pushover when it comes to her youngest granddaughter. Yesterday for lunch, Quinn got oatmeal and ice cream for lunch.
So today I dropped Quinn off at Grandma's after school, and Glo says "Today, I'm going to do it different. I'm not going to A-S-K (spelling it out) what she wants to have for L-U-N-C-H. I'm just going to make it and she can eat it."
"That's good," I said. "You don't have to be the short order cook."
"Yeah, and it'll be better than her having two ice cream cones."
Quinn whirls around and chirps "I want i-feem! I want i-feem!"
"Good thing you were spelling, Glo," I laughed.
"Oh, shit!" she said, and then bugged her eyes and clapped her hands over her mouth.

All about school
You've all been waiting to hear about school, I know. You might as well hear it directly from the schoolgirl herself. (I sure hope you can all play MP3 files)

I-feem!
Quinn and I were without Mama tonight, so she had noodles and I had Spanish rice glop. And then, after dinner, we went and had i-feem!
"What kind do you want? White or brown?"
"WITE I-FEEM!" she crowed. She ate a whole dish herself.
She does love some i-feem!

First day of school!
I thought Quinn would be awake with the roosters this morning, excited for school as she is. But instead of being woken up by her chattering, as we normally are, we were awakened by the alarm clock.
I opened her bedroom door which--if she's not already awake--usually makes her pop right up. Nope. After I showered and got dressed, I went in and turned on her light. There was some squinting for a second, but nope...she wasn't going to give in. Finally, I leaned over and said, "WHO'S A BUNNY? WHO? IS? A? BUNNY???" She opened her eyes a little, looked at me, and turned over.
Finally, I took her covers off and opened her shades. She stretched for about five hours, then lay there looking at me blankly.
"I want my covers back on," she finally said.
Now she's kind of eating her breakfast, but kind of assing around too. Andy spent the morning dancing around chirping, "I'm so excited! I'M SO EXCITED!"
I think he's more excited than both of us put together.
I just want us out of the house in three minutes.

The loudest tea party
I came down here to our basement office after dinner to do some work. I've been slacking off big time in the work-from-home department, but I'm back on track now. I've talked to my boss and made sure I still have a job, so I'm going to have to stop reading Fametracker at night and just do it. It's such an easy job, really, and there's no reason I can't spend at least 45 minutes or an hour a day doing it.
Anyway.
The last I heard from Andy and Quinn, they were going to have a tea party. Quinn had one at her friend Keegan's house, so now she's obsessed with them.
Except the noises I hear coming from upstairs are not the noises one would imagine coming from a tea party.
Shrieking.
Thumping.
Hooting.
Crashing.
"OH NO!!!!"ing.
Mad laughing.
Giggling (from ANDY).
It doesn't sound like any tea party I've ever been to.

The Snowy Day
When Quinn was young--under a year--I picked up a copy of Ezra Jack Keats' The Snowy Day, as it had been one of my favorite books as a child.
I tried reading it to her when we got home, but she wasn't interested. I tried a few months later, but no go. I tried after she turned two, but it didn't rhyme or have pictures of animals, so she wouldn't sit through it.
This morning, though, I was reading to her while we lay in my bed, and she disappeared into her room for another round of books. She came back with The Snowy Day, and I was so happy. I was even happier when we'd finished reading it and she asked me to read it again. And again.
Next she'll be requesting On Tour With Donny and Marie and the Osmonds and Karen.
